Uganda Technical College – Lira (UTC – Lira) stands out as one of Uganda’s oldest and most established technical institutions. It provides opportunities for Advanced Level graduates to pursue Ordinary Diploma programs in fields such as Building and Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Architectural Draughtsmanship, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
The institution places a strong emphasis on Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET), a practical-oriented curriculum designed to equip students with hands-on skills and technical expertise. These programs are assessed by the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) to ensure high standards and relevance to industry needs.
In addition to its diploma programs, UTC Lira also offers both diploma and certificate courses in various disciplines, including Automotive Technology, Building, Construction and the Built Environment, Engineering and Manufacturing Technology, as well as Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
